Former Paratrooper, Cowan jumped with many of the Generals he painted. It was documented Cowan painted more reigning Monarchs than any other portrait painter in history, no minor feat. Like his early idol John Singer Sargent, he excelled in an astonishing amount of non-portrait works. "Rough Edge" is playtime for Cowan. As Andy and his gang painted the "products" of their time, R.W. gets more charge painting the exploding sexy, young models displaying their beautifully inked-skinned attitude through a dangerous surrealistic haze. Who cares about the products. Paint right to the "TUDE!"
